    The Makkinga Market is a European grocery store in downtown Ponoka. We carry unique grocery items imported from Holland. Stop in to check out our variety of Gouda cheeses, dried sausages, soup mixes, spices, chocolate, our large candy selection, including a bulk candy bin, giftware and a LOT more! There is something here for everyone!

    Ground Bison Meat and Ground Beef
    As of February 1, 2022 we are selling frozen ground bison meat and ground beef at  Makkinga Market.
    Gift Baskets & Giftware
    We will make custom gift baskets filled with a variety of unique items from our store. You may also choose from one's that are already made. Baskets make great gifts for your family or staff members. We can make any size of basket or amount of baskets you desire. We also have a great selection of unique giftware items.
    Groceries from Holland
    You won't find the items found in our store in other local grocery stores. All items (except our meats) are imported from Holland and fresh groceries arrive weekly. We attempt to get items in that are specially requested by our customers as well.

    We are the Canadian distributors of the Senseo single serve coffee machines and sell the environmentally friendly (no plastic) coffee pods to go with them. Have one cup and you'll understand.
